What Are Work Ready Regions?

Building upon the Certified Work Ready Communities, Work Ready Regions is an initiative to transform our state. Building upon Certified Work Ready Communities, regions will be formed based on common resources aligned to regional strategic industries. Competitive grants of $500,000 will be made available to drive new thinking and develop talent pools of workers.

Coordinated through the Governor’s Office of Workforce Development, the Georgia Work Ready Region initiative will be the catalyst that will cement in place the linking of education, workforce and economic development together and will ensure our state has the talent to fill the jobs of the 21st century economy.
