What Does Certification Mean?
Possession of a Georgia Work Ready Certificate shows potential employers that a job applicant has demonstrated skills in Applied Mathematics, Locating Information and Reading for Information. These skills are considered crucial by all employers, and the Work Ready Certificate is good evidence that a job candidate has them. In addition, the portfolio issued with the certificate helps employers place new hires in jobs where they are likely to succeed by identifying the levels of skills shown on the various tests.
How Do I Become Certified?
The Georgia Work Ready assessments are offered at every Technical College System of Georgia at no charge. To obtain a certificate, job seekers must complete a test of skills in Applied Mathematics, Locating Information and Reading for Information. The assessments take about 45 to 55 minutes each. After successfully completing these tests, they will receive a Georgia Work Ready certificate and a portfolio identifying the skill levels they have demonstrated. Those whose scores show deficiencies in one or more areas may be eligible for training targeted to overcoming these problems.

What Do My Assessment Results Mean?
Scores provide information about the level of skill an individual has attained in a specific skill area. Each WorkKeys assessment has a score level range. Higher score levels indicate your ability to perform more complex skills. By comparing your skill levels with the skill levels required for the job, you and the employer can determine whether or not you are a good fit for that particular job.
Assessment scores on the tests in Applied Mathematics, Locating Information and Reading for Information correspond to the levels of difficulty of the problems solved. Level 3 problems are the simplest and level 7 the most complex, except on the Locating Information assessment, where the complexity of problems reaches only level 6.
